Agile Team Assessment

Agile Team Assessment

  • Agile Team Assessment helps organizations create a plan that delivers an Agile software delivery process that is repeatable, manageable and measurable.
  • Agile Team Assessment and Improvement Road Map uses a systematic iterative approach for improving software delivery efficiency that is aligned with business goals and objectives supported by Agile practices.
  • This approach allows the organization and the Teams to develop the skills and knowledge needed to become high performing agile delivery teams in the shortest amount of time.

Agile Team Assessment Process

Using proprietary questions to guide us, we gather key business drivers and priorities from the Executive Team based on five business dimensions: Cost, Time to Value, Predictability, Quality and Business Value. Then, by surveying the practitioners through a series of one-hour interviews we gather information about the current environment which allows us to highlight and prioritize areas for improvement. We then create an Agile Practice Improvement Roadmap to align the Practitioners activities to the prioritized business dimensions. This alignment results in faster Agile adoption both within IT and across the business.

The Roadmap details the implementation of processes and practices over the coming 9 months based on 3 month increments. The roadmap is technology-neutral in that it will recommend specific processes and methodology rather than hardware or software.

Agile Team Assessment Goals

Scrum Masters Inc.’s Agile Consultants will interview a wide range of people within your organization to determine current strengths, weaknesses, and challenges you face.

The purpose of the assessment is to provide a validity check on what is being done today and provide a roadmap on how to bring about a further improvement in your Agile processes.

Agile Team Assessment time-lines

The Agile Assessment requires the facilitation of interviews with several members of your staff within IT. This includes Project Managers, Business Analysts, Programmers, Testers/QA, Operations/Support, Enterprise Architects, Portfolio Managers, IT executives, existing agile team members, Data Professionals, Solution Architects, Governance staff, Process Engineers, and so on. We realize that you may not have all of these roles within your organization. We want to be able to speak with people who are actively involved with existing software development efforts and/or who support such teams.

Deliverables

  • Presentation of findings and recommendations to key stakeholders regarding your existing abilities and needs and then to identify an initial improvement plan
  • Provide a roadmap and implementable solutions to further increase your software delivery and business Agility
  • Provide an Agile Governance model that organizations similar to yours are using to increase time to market while managing risk.

Value Delivered

  • Baseline the current level agile adoption.
  • See how you’re tracking against your adoption or transformation goals. Help sustain and grow your support.
  • Determine if you’re ready to move to the next level of practice or adoption.
